Who We Are

Charter Equity Research is an independent equity research firm focusing on the wireless/telecom industry.  We provide an in-depth, vertical coverage of the wireless industry which include services, equipment and semiconductor companies.

The basis of our recommendations comes from our industry background, financial expertise and our access to a network of public and private company contacts in the wireless industry. We provide exclusive, insightful and qualitative analyses on the companies we cover with a perspective of the entire wireless foodchain which gives our clients the appropriate context needed to make accurate and timely investment decisions.


Management Biographies


Edward Snyder
co-founded Charter Equity Research in 2003 and is a Principal Analyst covering the wireless/telecom industry. Prior to Charter, Ed was a senior equity analyst at JPMorgan covering wireless technology where he was the top ranked Institutional Investor Technology Analyst at JPMorgan in 2002. Prior to JPMorgan, Ed spent ten years in high frequency design during which he also received his MSEE in Microwave Systems. Ed designed wireless systems and high speed wireline networks for Hewlett Packard and was director of Engineering for an early stage California Company developing solid-state magnetic memory. Ed was a regent scholar at the University of California where he graduated with honors with a BSEE in Electromagnetics. He received his M.B.A. from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University where he graduated with honors in Finance.

Julie Fleischer co-founded Charter Equity Research in 2003. Prior to Charter, Julie was an investment banker at JPMorgan / Hambrecht & Quist where she advised and executed on numerous equity, debt and M&A transactions in the technology industry. While focusing on private and public wireless technology companies, Julie advised over 15 technology banking deals completing approximately $3.0 billion worth of public equity financing. Julie began her investment banking career at Hambrecht & Quist on the Communications, Systems and Semiconductors team. Prior to H&Q, Julie worked for Merrill Lynch in its Private Client Services group. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California Santa Barbara.


Equity Analyst Biographies


John Dryden
joined Charter Equity Research in 2007 as a Senior Equity Analyst covering Semiconductors and Communication IC’s. Prior to Charter, John was a Media & Telecom equity research consultant for Citadel Investment Group. Prior to Citadel, John was a Wireless Equipment Analyst for the JPMorgan H&Q Communications Technologies Group, which was top ranked by Institutional Investor in 2002. Prior to joining JPMorgan H&Q, John was a Mission Manager responsible for commercial and government satellite launch vehicle mission integration and operations with Lockheed Martin Corporation. John received a BSEE from the University of Florida and an MBA with Finance Specialization from the University of Denver's Daniels College of Business.
